Miami, Florida - 24-25 January 2019
24
January 2019 - Thursday
We
are up early this morning -- breakfast at hotel -- on the shuttle to the
airport and by 9:45 am we are sitting on Flight AA 4430 Jacksonville to Miami.
Flight
is uneventful except when the guy in front of Phil spilled his Starbucks coffee
and it dripped down under his seat all over Phil's iPad case -- luckily no
damage done.
This
is a short flight and the Pullman Miami has a free shuttle -- but room is not
ready when we arrive so we have lunch in the hotel.

It
is raining this afternoon so it's a good time to reorganize our luggage --
setting aside items to send back to Boston before boarding Oceania's
Riviera. Luckily there is a Laundromat
and a UPS store within walking distance.
We will take care of all that
tomorrow morning.
For
dinner, it is tapas in the bar at the hotel -- in bed by 8:00pm since we are
dealing with the jet lag from Australia.
25
January 2019 - Friday
We're
up early -- 7:00 am. Phil brings coffee
back to room as we prepare our laundry and the package going to Boston. We walk about a mile to the shopping center
with the Laundromat and fill up the washers.
Phil minds the wash and I head over to the UPS Store to send the
package.

With
the package sent and the laundry done -- it is time for breakfast. We find a wonderful Cuban Restaurant in the
shopping center -- it is a local place -- we order eggs, toast, potatoes, and
meat for $5.49 each and the coffee is really good.
So
with our work done for the day -- we decide to take an UBER to Coral Gables --
and wander around the Shops at Merrick Place --- they have a Chico's here so
I'm happy.

Dinner
is at a favorite restaurant, "The
94th Aero Squadron Restaurant" which sits along one of the runways at
Miami International Airport and we can walk from the hotel. All the tables have headsets allowing diners
to listen in on the air traffic controllers as they guide planes into and out
of the airport. It is very interesting
to listen to these guys. They deserve
our admiration and thanks for keeping us safe.

We
have a wonderful meal -- and a tricky walk home in the dark but we make it to
the Pullman without incident.
Thanks
for Reading.
Pat
